Update in Regards to Potential ILA Strike and Delta Trucking Instructions

NOTE:

Delta Trucking Service, Inc and SMLT Trucking INC. has provided an update regarding the potential for an ILA (International Longshoremen's Association) coastwise strike. While the situation remains fluid and uncertain, the following key points have been outlined based on current information :

  • We will guide ourselves by the terminal decision to when to stop receiving orders and use them as our governing body.

  • We will not be responsible for any Perdiems, demurrages, or extra charges caused by this stoppage.

  • We will not reimburse or reduce costs from storage and security if units need to stay in our terminal.

  • We will not be moving reefers beginning 9/25/2024

Please note that Port Everglades has released its instructions in regards to the possible ILA coastwide strike at the end of the month, see below:

  • Vessel Operations: All vessel operations will stop by 7 PM on Monday, September 30th.

  •   Import Reefer Deadlines: All imported refrigerated (reefer) containers must be removed from the dock by 5 PM on Friday, September 27th.

  •   Export Reefer Restrictions: No live reefer exports will be accepted for vessels arriving after Friday, September 27th.

  •   Gate Operations: Gates will open at 8 AM on Monday, September 30th and plan to close at 5 PM that day. Normal gate operations are expected during week #39 (as posted on the website).

  •   In Case of Work Stoppage: If a work stoppage occurs, all operations, including gate, vessel, and yard activities, will stop. Containers and equipment will not be accessible during the stoppage.
